ECE hand planes combine Emmerich's meticulous quality with the economy of traditional hammer-set irons secured with wooden wedges. Heavy irons are solidly bedded for smooth, clean performance. Bodies and sole are long-wearing hornbeam. As in all Emmerich planes, the workmanship is simply outstanding.

Hornbeam body is 180mm long. Gives good control in paring the last few inches of a stopped rabbet cut with the grain. The 30mm wide blade is mounted on front of body and is bedded at the steep York pitch (50°) to reduce tear out. Set blade to take fine cuts.
